The Yamaha EZ-AG is a futuristic, one-of-a kind, self-teaching electric guitar. It features lighted frets, built-in lessons, realistic sounds and no strings or tuning are required. With the Yamaha EZ-AG Guitar, learning to play has become as easy as following the lights on a fret board - with no sore fingers!

The Yamaha EZ-AG features 6 lighted frets that show beginners the actual hand positions for all the chords they'll need to know before they take off on their own, and six "strings" that emulate strumming or finger-picking. In addition to an onboard selection of 36 songs, songs can be downloaded in the guitar's Flash ROM via MIDI IN/OUT connections and a quick connection to a computer. The Yamaha EZ-AG will also reproduce nine realistic guitar sounds, eight bass guitar sounds and the timbres of a banjo, piano and traditional Japanese shamisen through its built-in speaker.

Selectable play modes include: Strumming Practice for the right hand, where chords change automatically during a strumming practice; Chord Training for the left hand, where the user simply makes the chord changes while it strums; and Full Play, which shows chord changes by lighting the frets, while the user strums and plays chords.

Standard guitar features on the Yamaha EZ-AG include volume, tempo, and balance controls, standard tuning plus open tuning options. A unique electronic capo allows pitch adjustment. Users may plug the EZ-AG into a standard guitar amplifier, or use the mini-headphone jack for private practice.

The Yamaha EZ-AG comes complete with AC adaptor. For portability, you can also play the guitar using batteries. It has a built-in speaker, so no external amplifier is required. However, there is an output jack so that you can connect the guitar to an external amplifier or to headphones (not included).

MIDI in/out jacks are also built-in. The MIDI connection allows you to download songs into the Flash ROM memory of the EZ-AG, and you can also transmit MIDI data (example: note data, strumming etc.) to your favorite sequencing program.

With the Yamaha EZ-AG, learning to play has become as easy as following the lights on a fret board. It not only prepares you for a future of playing, but also makes learning interactive and fun for those who may prefer the guitar to a traditional keyboard.

Judging by the number we have already pre-sold, the EZ-AG is going to be a very big seller. So don't wait too long, order yours soon.

Reviewer: EZChuck

I bought this sythesized guitar because I have nerve damage to my left hand and can no longer fret a standard guitar. It works ok for my purposes but is extremely limited as a teaching guitar.
