The Steve Vai Guitar, the Ibanez JEM, is probably the best known and certainly the most unmistakable in appearance of any artist signature model guitar. The Ibanez JEM doesn't look like any of the well known vintage guitars, but it can sound like them. The JEM7VWH's DiMarzio humbuckers and the DiMarzio Custom Single, which is a JEM exclusive, were designed to provide Steve Vai with classic humbucking or classic single coil tone. The JEM Monkey Grip is also unique to the Ibanez Steve Vai model.

The first Ibanez Vai Signature models were introduced at the Chicago NAMM show in 1987. The JEM's were the spearhead of the rebirth of Ibanez that year and the eventual status of Ibanez as one of the top three electric guitar companies in the world. This year 2007, represents the 20th Anniversary of the Ibanez JEM guitars and Ibanez will introduce a Limited Edition 20th Anniversary model.

The Ibanez JEM7VWH Steve Vai guitar carries on the legacy of the JEM guitars. It features a contoured body with 24-fret Prestige neck that provides easy access to all registers, and deep routed tremolo cavities to allow pitches to be radically lowered and raised. Steve Vai’s choice of DiMarzio pickups for the JEM, combined with Ibanez Split-5 wiring provide incredible tonal versatility.

Thanks to a legion of dedicated Steve Vai guitar fans, the Ibanez JEM has become an almost instant collector's item. Steve Vai and Ibanez designed the JEM to be so playable and capable of such a wide range of tones, that guitarist just can't stand to leave their JEM in the case! If you're a JEM fan, the JEM7VWH is a must have, and is available in a beautiful white finish.
