The Steve Vai Guitar, the Ibanez JEM, is probably the best known and certainly the most unmistakable in appearance of any artist signature model guitar. The first Ibanez Vai Signature models were introduced at the Chicago NAMM show in 1987. The JEM's were the spearhead of the rebirth of Ibanez that year and the eventual status of Ibanez as one of the top three electric guitar companies in the world. This year 2007, represents the 20th Anniversary of the Ibanez JEM guitars and Ibanez will introduce a Limited Edition 20th Anniversary model.
The Ibanez JEM7VWH Steve Vai guitar carries on the legacy of the JEM guitars. It features a contoured body with 24-fret Prestige neck that provides easy access to all registers, and deep routed tremolo cavities to allow pitches to be radically lowered and raised. Steve Vai's choice of DiMarzio pickups for the JEM, combined with Ibanez Split-5 wiring provide incredible tonal versatility.
