Ibanez X Series - New Original Designs

Saturday, January 20th, 2007

There hasn’t been anything this big and buzzworthy in radically-shaped guitars since the Ibanez X series guitars first appeared in 1982. The 2007 X Series features completely new and original designs. Check out these otherworldly shapes of the new Xiphos, V Blade, and Arondite guitars. All named for weaponry… and with good reason.

Due to increasing demand for new Ibanez X Series guitars, Ibanez now offers several new models for the unreserved guitarist among us. The new Ibanez ADD120 is reminiscent of the Iceman, with a very similar body shape. It has a mahogany body with a set-in neck, bound rosewood fingerboard with special inlay markers, the Gibraltar III bridge, chrome hardware, and VK! and VK2 Ibanez pickups. The ADD120MG is only available in Metallic Gray finish.

The new Ibanez ADX120BK looks even more like the Iceman than the ADD120MG. Similar features, but with sharktooth inlays. And last buy not least is the ADC120, which is the tamest of the lot. All three of these new Ibanez X Series guitars are loaded with powerful new VK humbuckers that provide full lows and enhanced highs for metal and heavier rock styles.

The V-Blade guitar model features an all-new Ibanez V-shape with neck thru construction powered by DiMarzio’s D-Activator pickups. The original Ibanez design Xiphos offers the same great specs as above in a completely different X shape.

Ibanez Guitar Counterfeit Warning

Monday, June 19th, 2006

The Ibanez guitar company has issued this warning about counterfeit Ibanez guitars.

“Some auction websites currently have hundreds of instruments that look like Ibanez guitars and/or feature our trademarked Ibanez headstocks and logos. These guitars do not offer the feel, sound and quality people expect from Ibanez. In fact, most are not good guitars by any standard.

We here at Ibanez, our distributors, and our retailers have heard many complaints from consumers who have purchased these instruments thinking they were getting a great deal when actually, in the end, they were getting swindled.

If a guitar is up for auction or straight sale at a price that’s a fraction of what a new or used Ibanez guitar would typically sell for, chances are it’s not a genuine Ibanez. If the shipping cost is more than the price of the guitar, it’s probably not a genuine Ibanez. As the old saying goes,” If something seems to good to be true, it probably is.”

The best protection against being cheated or disappointed is to buy your new or used Ibanez guitars and basses from an authorized Ibanez retailer. To locate your nearest authorized Ibanez dealer, please consult the dealer locator here on our website.

One final but very important note: Because of the damages and hardship that illegal merchandise cause at so many levels, counterfeiting in the United States is a serious crime. By Federal statutes, it’s not only a felony to sell counterfeit merchandise, it’s a felony even to own it.”
